Exploring emergent forms of movement and sound:

Transferring our creative energy from the dance floor to the studio

Sentient Rhythms has always been about musical experimentation. As a result our music has evolved through direct interaction with dancers and has been shaped by the dance community here in Arizona. Now we are focusing on transferring that creativity into our first studio album, that will take listeners from deep ambiance to ecstatic beats and back again.

The first phase of this process has begun: We are inviting everyone who has graced our dance floor to add to our creation. Whether you want to add a traditional instrument, your voice, found sound instrument or musical ideas, we welcome your creativity and will use it to inspire the album. Throughout November we will be recording ideas and inspiration directly from our dance community. So far we have recorded guitar, banjo, vocals, several didgeridoo’s, hand drums, modular synthesizers and tons of found sound experiments including: cracking twigs, underwater air horn, and spinning wiffle balls.

To participate: contact us anytime during November at: sentientrhythms@gmail.com

Hey guys, I don’t know if you’re passing back through Prescott in the near future, but WEB is hosting a Healing Arts and Wellness Fair and would love to have you guys for the dance that follows. We could pay you for your time and travel.
    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks!
